Shoutout to Amy – Our Award-Winning Volunteer!
Posted on 2/6/2025
We’re buzzing with excitement to share some brilliant news – one of our amazing youth volunteers, Amy, has won an award at the 2025 Student Community & Volunteering Awards from the University of York!
“I love volunteering at Door 84, said Amy. It’s been so much fun – I feel so grateful to be involved with a place that gives so much back to the community.”
Amy’s been with us for nearly two years now, supporting youth club sessions for ages 8–17. She first joined Door 84 as a placement student during her uni course – and lucky for us, she stayed! She now continues to volunteer with us while completing her master’s degree.
On behalf of everyone at Door 84, I just want to say a massive thank you to Amy. She has been a fantastic volunteer, always happy to get stuck in, brings a positive and friendly vibe, and has built brilliant relationships with the young people. She really does brighten up every session she’s part of!
We couldn’t be prouder – well done, Amy!
