New Community Mural is Complete!

If you have walked past the SPAR on Lowther Street recently, you will have noticed a stunning new addition to our neighbourhood. Artist Tom Sledmore has wrapped up work on a vibrant mural right on the side of the building, just a stone’s throw from our Youth & Community Centre!

The finished artwork is a true celebration of our neighbourhood’s past and present.

Our CEO Lisa shared “There is a lot of great history here, a lot of great community spirit in a tight-knit neighbourhood and there’s also lots of support that’s needed. To be able to see some hope and joy in the place you live, and some bright colours, I think is really, really important.”

We are absolutely thrilled to have such a fun, interesting, and uplifting piece of art right on our doorstep.

This fantastic project was made possible thanks to funding from the Vibrant and Sustainable High Street Fund through the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority.
