Door 84 Celebrates York Pride 2025!

Posted on 12/6/2025

On Saturday 7th June, the Door 84 team headed to the Knavesmire to take part in York Pride — and what a day it was!

We’ve been going to York Pride for years, and it just keeps getting better, we were there bright and early to set up our stall — slightly worried about the weather as we inflated the paddling pool — but the sun came out and so did the crowds!

Our Hook a Duck game was a hit with all ages, and we were blown away by the generosity of those who donated to have a go. Every penny goes straight back into our weekly sessions like youth club, Sparks, and the Community Café.

But more than anything, Pride is about celebrating love, unity, and inclusion. York Pride is North Yorkshire’s biggest LGBTQ+ event, with a colourful city-centre parade followed by a vibrant festival full of live entertainment, food, and community stalls.

It was brilliant to chat with so many people — both familiar faces and new — about what we do at Door 84.

We’re already looking forward to next year!
