An exciting opportunity has arisen at Door 84 Youth and Community Centre for a Supply Youth and Community Support Worker to cover additional delivery, sickness, holidays and training.

As York’s biggest, busiest Youth & Community Centre we now are offering more services than ever before & planning to add even more ambitious new projects to support children, young people, families & community members. Therefore, we are seeking additional supply Youth & Community Support staff.

The role also includes helping to organise charity fundraising events, trips and supporting our volunteers.

The main purpose of the job is to assist in the delivery of our programme of activities and services for Young People aged 8-25years. Working directly with Young People and Community members in a way that encourages personal development and considers the needs, interests and aspirations. To collaborate with team members to plan, deliver and then evaluate youth and community work activities and contribute to staff meetings.

The role requires a passionate, enthusiastic individuals who work well on their own initiative and within a team. As part of the team, you will gain access to free training to support your role and personal and professional development.

We are also happy to consider experienced health and social care workers, especially with knowledge in meeting the needs of adults with additional needs and LD who are interested in the Community work only aspect. Additional Info:

Due to the nature of the role the successful candidate must be flexible and usually available for most of the following sessions.

Youth Sessions:

Monday 5-8pm

Monday (outreach) 4:30 – 7:30pm

Tuesday 5-8pm

Wednesday 5–8pm

16-25 Project:

Monday 7:30 – 9:30pm

HAF delivery:

Increased youth hours during school holidays.

Trips and Residentials:

Multiple per year

Outreach & Events:

Various

Community Sparks

Tuesday: 10 – 1pm

Thursday: 10 – 1pm

Community Café:

Friday: 10:00 – 1:30pm
